Aquarius Season: Where Revolution Becomes Evolution For All

This season is the part of the astrological year focused on collective progress, equality, innovation, and the future. (And due to its freaky fresh, let freedom ring and airy nature…fun. Thanks gosh for that!)

Bob Marley performing, Aquarius musician and cultural icon whose message of unity, freedom, and “One Love” reflects Aquarius season themes of equality and collective consciousness.
Bob Marley, Aquarius icon and voice of collective freedom (and good times!) His message of “One Love” echoes the highest expression of Aquarius season: unity, equality, and liberation for all. And yes, he’s wearing a ring on the Saturn finger, the middle finger, astrologically linked to responsibility, karma, and soul work… you already know I would have asked if he knew.

Aquarius Is a 19-Year Era

Aquarius energy is basically going to last 19 years, as Pluto is in it. Starting last year, plan for it to be the theme for the next two decades. So yes, let’s get our Aquarius season awareness on. It’s a month that will last 19 lol.

For most benefit: Focus on the evolution part of revolution.

I love me some Aquarius. Their brilliance is truly unmatched. It is like they have access to wisdom on speed dial for any topic that comes up. This is not to say they are a jack of all trades, master of none. It is just that if they chime in in a conversation, they will bring illumination that is a lightning rod. They will inform and change you.

The opposite sign is Leo, all about sovereignty and leadership and love. Yes, the full moon in Leo is the day of soulmates according to the Kabbalists, and that moon is in Aquarius. The lesson this month is all about love – of the other and the self. Which, yes, means that’s the theme of the next 19 years (and yes, beyond cuz that is just the theme of our world but we are humans so use astrology and other tools to get us there lol and oooof. Moving on…)

Aquarius Energy, Saturn, and Freedom

Ruled by Saturn (in Kabbalistic Astrology,) the second sign in a row with this planet of hard work bringing rewards, Aquarius in Saturn is a lighter manifestation of the energy. That is to say, it is less harsh and hard, less strict and bound, which is exactly like an Aquarius if you know any. That box people are told to think outside of, they never heard of it. However, Aquarius, like a Capricorn, does not play. This is where their brilliance and exacting nature matches Capricorn. If you deviate from allowing all people to be free and live their life and express themselves as they like, if you try to use whatever talents and means are at your use to restrict another’s freedom in any way, you will see their brilliant wrath at work. They will deftly handle anyone who tries to rein in and impose on another’s freedoms with all their might.

I mean, how great is that? And timely.

America’s Redo: Revolutions of Equality and Peace Around the Globe

Capricorn is more about top-down leadership, which, as us humans have done, renders it about inequality and autocratic structures. Whether government (the US was founded in Pluto in Capricorn 250 years ago) or business or your home, yes, this inequality has reigned. Basically, yes, think patriarchy. However, Aquarius, yes also ruled by Saturn, in Aquarius shows us another side of Saturn. One of fairness and equality and freedom as its basis.

In the US, the wealthiest 10% of the population owns 93% of stocks. Like, no.

Aquarius, Time, Technology, and the Future

Aquarius is all about cause and effect, and so yes, also time (Capricorn is Father Time, Chronos). But in Aquarius, Saturn’s time is more in a forward motion, meaning future-focused. Aquarius is about the future. It rules the 11th house and so our networking and social groups and friend groups, technology, and the future. It’s is about who we build with and that we are creating and using the latest technology to do so (did you forget that prayers are technology?). Aquarius is about taking care of each other and working together.

Aquarius is about speed and quickness. It is about revolution and freedom, and truth.

Both Saturn signs are about karma and time, but one is that kind you feel and is weighted and hard, the other is when time is light and flies by. In both cases things get done and time goes by, but they are different.

Aquarius is also ruled by Uranus, and that is where you can see the speed and revolution, the vitality and newness and youth and vigor. In April, Uranus will go into Gemini, lasting 8 years, and it will be activating Pluto in Aquarius. So much air. I’d suggest (most seriously lol) you may want to check yourself a lot to ensure you are indeed being for all and not getting swept up into some fervor. So much air can not only diffuse things, but you can get swept up and not until you are plopped down realize how far off target you are from where you wanted to go. Be intentional.

A Note on Speed and Aquarius

I am working on a piece about time, but for now let’s just say that the lightness and speed we have access to in this season are to be used. You can make great strides quickly where Aquarius lives in your chart, and so in this time progress can be fast. Think speed of light. Think that moment of illumination when you get something. It happens in a flash, and that is at work now.

How about we put on the lights in our consciousness and ask for the flashes to be of love and unity and connection, of healing and forgiveness and mercy. That is possible too.

What we think about we bring about. Where is your consciousness?

Aquarius is all about the other. Indeed, it is a sign that is focused on others’ wellbeing. Love that for us. However, the challenge in this month for those with Aquarius placements can be one on intimacy and one-on-one relationships. An example: Abraham Lincoln made policies that were ahead of his time (for however flawed he was), but his family life lacked that care, as he was not there for his wife and kids when they lost a child. Intimacy. Aquarius has issues.

(I did a post about Mamdani for his wife lol, as she may suffer most for his Aquarius Moon ways, unless of course he works on it. Which, of course, is why we know about astrology lol, so there is that.)

Aquarius Traits to Watch Out For

Ego. Listen, you are smart and wise and know things. However, that does not make you better than someone who does not. If you do not understand that sentence, there is your work lol.

Coldness. Listen, like I said, you are able to see things and know things and figure things out and know what is best in many situations. However, all that smarts is for naught if people do not feel you. (Learn from Mamdani here, and also Oprah.) Your warmth is an asset, even if it is uncomfortable for you to embrace your emotional side. That is ok. That is why it is called work lol. You got this.

Emotional/Mental Health: Take care of your heart. We all need each other, and in ways that are not logical, and we also need to be that for others. Your emotional and mental health always requires your attention, so please do not bypass it because it is too much work.

What Aquarius Season Is About

Creating an equal world, period, in all the ways.
Standing up for others to bring about that peaceful, equal world.
Freedom. As Aquarius legend Toni Morrison says, “The function of freedom is to free someone else.” Period, in all the ways.
Have fun. Joy is your birthright. Party. Dance. Circulate. We are in an air sign, so progress and joy can be had. Let’s be about that.
