The Full Moon in Leo Season falls in the month ruled by the Sun, when the Moon is at its most potent, according to Kabbalistic teaching. And honestly, that makes complete sense to me. The day when both luminaries are at their strongest? That sounds like a soulmate day if I’ve ever heard one.
I wrote about this day last year, but this year is different. We have Jupiter in Leo — extra fortune around love, yes please, for all of us — and the configuration of Uranus in Gemini, Pluto in Aquarius, Neptune in Aries, and Jupiter in Leo, creating the famous Barbault’s Basket. We are in a new era, and we are actively ushering it in. That’s classic moon in Aquarius (which is what this full moon is in.)
With so much cosmic momentum pushing us to build something new — built on love for all, individual sovereignty, genius invention, and structures that actually last — this Full Moon is one we have never seen before in human history.
Let’s act like it.

What the Kabbalists Teach About the Day of Love
Leo is the month ruled by the Sun (as covered in the New Moon article here). As the Full Moon marks the moment the Moon is at her most powerful, the Kabbalists teach that this is the day of love.
And soulmates are more than just romantic — though of course that’s part of it. The friends who got you through the impossible years. The family member who showed up when no one else did. The teacher who changed what you thought was possible. The partner who made your life sing and rewrote everything you knew about love. All of them are soulmates.
This Full Moon is a time to connect to all the good love you’ve had, all the love you’ve given, and all the love you want to call in.
Kabbalistic astrology is about using these windows of time to connect to what we want to bring into our lives — and to remember that in order to receive it, we have to become it.
Are you loving unconditionally? And no — taking abuse is never it. But how do you love when someone does something you deem wrong? When someone hurts you? Love is also about repair and reconnection. That’s actually how people get closer. Are you letting old slights and old pain dictate how you love people now — and how you let them love you?
This is a time to look honestly at the love in your life, decide you want more (obviously), and take real steps toward being that.

I love that Valentine’s Day falls in Aquarius season — the sign opposite Leo — because Aquarius is all about love too. Universal love. The kind that demands total freedom alongside it. Here is some info on Aquarius, if you aren’t up on the water bearing, smarty pants, unicorn of a revolutionary sign.
But how free are you, really? And how free are you in your relationships?
We know people cheat. We know people divorce. And yet we rarely look honestly at what we actually expect from another person — or from ourselves. Society has handed us a lot of scripts, and most of them don’t serve us. Aquarius is the energy that says: I’m doing this my own way, because my own way is better for everyone. And honestly? They’re usually right.
But there is also another person in the room with their own needs. That’s the balance. That’s the work. The individual and the other. Personal sovereignty and genuine partnership, both at once.
Leo is about the self.
Aquarius is about freedom.
Both are highlighted on the day of soulmates. How are you with each of these — and how are you with each of these in relation to your person?

An Honest Take For Leo and Aquarius Axis

This is a Full Moon about freedom and love — yours, and theirs.
If your relationships feel imbalanced, incomplete, unhealthy, or lacking — that’s okay. Look at how you are showing up. How can you do it better? What can you actually change?
Leo is the sign of self and ego — and remember, too much ego is just as problematic as too little. Aquarius, according to the Kabbalists, actually carries the largest ego of the entire zodiac. Which makes this opposition especially potent. Healthy ego is what we’re after, for everyone. Is your balance off?
