Astrology in the News Notebook for September 13, 2024. A weekly series where we look around our world, connect some dots and glean wisdom.

HAD to start this series today because it’s Friday the 13^th and the fates lined it up. What luck!

A note on this date in case you don’t know: Friday is the day connected to Venus…that’s love and beauty and money. 13 corresponds to the divine feminine and love. So basically the day is love squared. How great is that?! No wonder dudes tried to make it something evil and frightful. Empowering the feminine and bringing out the love in all can be scary to those who fear it. We humans sure can fear the good, huh?! Anyhoots, onto today’s other focus…and with the moon in Capricorn no less…

Pluto in Capricorn is back and doing it’s thing for its farewell tour, lasting from now til November 19th. Remember, Pluto as ruler of the underworld does not negotiate with terrorists. The terrorists of course are our bad habits, improperly constructed structures, false idols, shallow pursuits and relationships… you get it. It destroys what is not well built and not for the good. Pluto does not play.

Neither does Capricorn. (You see why these days have been so fun lol.) Saturn, the planet ruling structure, order, business, also does not negotiate. It line items everything. Gets out its ruler and calculator and all the required measuring instruments in whatever area its hitting you in (unless you’re a Capricorn and it’s everywhere). 

You see what I’m saying? There is no way out of the rebuilds we have to do. Trick is to remember it is happening for us (ooof!). And to ask for help and be kind to yourself and others. 

Also, Pluto has been around for the past 16ish years, these themes been brewing and happening. You know, highlighting top down ruling structures don’t work. Showing our failed and fraudulent economic systems. Do as I say cuz I said so is not coming forward with us, thank gosh. The Age of Aquarius is upon is. It’s about community! UNITY! Consensus! The individual AND the group. Personal responsibility as part of the whole. Joy and equality and an egalitarian world where everyone can eat healthy foods and be safe and fulfill their dreams. Sounds pretty great, right? Classic Aquarius.

So we have this time to get us to that time. Laborious? Yep. Unfun. SURE IS lol (oof these guys in power be clinging, yo)…. But it’s also the medicine we need. What changes do we have to make so that the lessons and learning coming for us TO HELP US can become part of us? WE got this!

Now, we are NOT into vilifying people around here. We are about learning and growing and mercy. About extending to others the grace we would like in our rough times. Right?  Folks in the public eye deserve our mercy, too, lord knows fame is not easy. 

I mention the following people so we can learn from them. I mean, what is to come our way will, but we can learn from others to do better and thus experience greater. Let’s do that.

I highlight these people for those reasons. And wish them well (and am available if any want an astrology reading cuz they likely could use it.)

Dave Grohl: Navigating Public Scrutiny and Personal Growth

He is a Capricorn. Double Capricorn in fact, so there’s that. This coming to public light now is meaningful, as his moon is in the 10^th house of fame and honors and public image. Let’s just say there’s been a clear misalignment with his interior world and his public image. What we don’t correct the fates will for us. Best to admit things, as he did, then have it leak. That’s also classic Capricorn, take control and get in front of it. They are managers. It’s where they excel. However, the leak about him finding an attorney ahead of the announcement shows hes still not being honest with himself and others. It’s one thing to protect yourself, but if you are concerned with that after this story comes out, my double Capricorn and Sag moon you are v v v off course from learning the lesson. And I do hope he learns his lesson. Cuz its hard of course. And no it’s not as basic as don’t cheat. There’s something below it. There’s something more to it. Let’s not be so banal now.

Positives for him: His North Node in Aries. All this is happening so get him to be his highest self, a pioneering inspired leader showing others the way! As we have the North Node in Aries now, it is all for us to be our best self. Aries rules our sense of self. It’s all also happening to heal his pains. He has Chiron in Pisces too, and as the lunar eclipse coming up is in Pisces, oof, so he’s got some deep healing going on. He can’t escape it, well, I hope he doesn’t try. He can do this. A Capricorn opening up emotionally is…a lot lol. It’s ruled by Chronos aka time. Father time. The kind of time we feel every second of it passing. Can be slow or fast. Depending on us… 

Kate Middleton: Her Taylor Swiftesque Video Montage Return and Emotional Healing

This Capricorn is taking this final stage of Pluto in Capricorn by P.R. storm. And bah will she will be healed and having learned whatever this period tried to teach her. The announcement of this illness at the end of this Pluto in Capricorn phase earlier this year was notable. In 2008, around when this began, she had gotten back together with William. She decided this path of life and it’s lead here. Bah she learns the lesson and heals. 

Again, a Capricorn opening up emotionally and learning the lesson is…a lot. Her Taylor Swift like video montage feels…disingenius at best. Do recall her being missing earlier this year before the announcement prompted serious articles talking about her affair riddled marriage, theories that she tried to self-harm, and that she was so unhinged and unhappy she didn’t know what way to go. It bordered on she was a hostage in her own life that she created and curated. Serious, serious, serious stuff – that so many people actually believed. So this weeks Swiftie level video of love and family – notably without Char and Mill – doesn’t feel or look like a change. Pluto doesn’t negotiate, after all. Lipsitck on a pig and all that. You gotta change the underneath and thus actually change. I mean she does work for a firm, Mountabattan, Windsor and Co. lol, so it could just be a business call. Anyway, hopefully her interior world is brighter and lighter.

My hint to her would be her Chiron in Taurus, 10^th house. That’s career. It’s also fame and honors. It’s not just indicating that it’s her work to heal others in this world – also illustrated in that she had an illness and is très famous thus she so can do a world of healing for others if she chooses to – but really it’s her work to heal herself and her perceived failings/inadequacies with her work. If you recall, she didn’t have a job other than being Wills girlfriend and was publicly called out on this for years. She comes from wealthy parents that built their success, and she is doing a job that is her husband’s family biz. Her own career has never been built or solid except for relying on others. That is not Capricorn at all. They are managers and constructors and builders.  She is seemingly being directed to heal these pains she has about herself and her work and her public life. She is capable of a career of course. But she has to know this. And her path and astrology indicate she maybe hasn’t.  She can heal many. But P.R. visits on behalf of her family business and one line in a PR document..is that her best highest calling? Is that her hearts work? We shall see..

Kamala Harris: Expanding Horizons and Addressing Family Issues

She is a Gemini rising, and that has Jupiter on her side right now expanding her life overall. She is also a north node in Gemini, all this bodes very well for her blooming in ways she wants to and focuses. 

However, I will note something I saw this week. Apparently, she has a fraught relationship with her father, Donald. And then dude also has that name! That caught my eye as she is a Libra and we have libra in a karma point. Dealing with Dad and father issues is on the table it seems for her (also evident with the story of her husband’s first marriage’s demise coming to light publicly.) It’s just a lot of father/family issues for her to clean up coming through. This is also pointed to because Pluto is back in Capricorn, and Capricorn signals the father in our lives. I’d say with the debate she’s handling this all very well and is healing rather well lol, but it’s a reminder to us that things repeat in our lives.

Like Joan Rivers said, things don’t get better we do (Gemini Sun, Aries Rising, Sag Moon). Kamala is showing us that. As there are two more months of this astrology it’s a marathon. But as she has progressed to Scorpio (after every Saturn return we progress) the long game is her friend. 

Her Opponent’s Astrological Lessons: Growth and Self-Reflection (Lol I know.)

Now he is a Gemini sun, HOWEVER, with Jupiter in Gemini it’s our reminder that Jupiter is benevolent and expands indiscriminately… that means anything. 

If you think bad and low, that will expand. So, if you are pigging out it will expand your waistline. If you are fearful and mistrusting, that will grow. If you are loving and kind and giving with your knowledge and means, that expands too. Jupiter be benevolent like that lol. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, that’s communication and commerce. Use that all wisely, or else you know, the blow up can be spectacular too. 

There’s also another cautionary tale with his astrology and public life right now for us to learn from. Kamala is, seemingly, in every way a better version of him, and he has to look at that lovely dewy skin and well-coiffed, perfectly blown out hair and calm brilliance all the time. That means he has to see, closeup in technicolor what he is not. Oof.

Someone recently posted their revenge to someone was I hope you meet you one day. That is deep. But another take is seeing yourself only better. What you could have been if only…? Ouch. Especially when you are so seemingly sexist and racist and nationalistic and so have to see it literally embodied in something you can’t stand. (I literally can’t think on him anymore lol so that’s it.)

Seems to have been a triple Capricorn. We love a legend! What a life! What a legacy! What heart!
