This full moon is always potent. People feel sad about the end of summer, a new year beginning in September not realizing that the new moon at this time is actually dredging up our emotions, sentimentality, and remembrances. (Interesting how it links with the Libra new moon, the new year of our souls, according to the Kabbalists.)
Virgo is the last sign of the year, so it’s about endings, reflection, accounting — making note of what worked and what didn’t, making amends (see the new moon article for more on this), and cleaning up our messes to start the new year clean. (Virgo has also been the karmic point of endings and letting go int he South Node. Read more about that here.)
The full moon in Pisces adds to this ending, as Pisces is the very last sign in the astrological calendar. So it’s highlighting what you are feeling, dreaming, and creating — all Pisces things — and as it’s a full moon, it’s about releasing what doesn’t serve you.
It’s a double release. A double letting go. A double emphasis, every year, on endings and cycles.
That it’s a lunar eclipse though, adds a another emphasis on letting go. Getting the drift?
Why This Lunar Eclipse Is Extra Potent
With the lunar eclipse landing on it this year, it’s extra potent. This is the 6th of 7 eclipses in the Pisces/Virgo Nodal axis that started in September 2024 — so ask yourself: what in your life from then to now has changed?
