Black Moon Lilith in Libra: Reclaiming Your Voice and Transforming Your Relationships

“The opposite of courage in this world is not cowardice; it’s conformity.” – Rollo May (via Pam Gregory in her Solar Eclipse lesson.)

Lilith sure is that bitch.

Lilith in Libra is here to explode all the ways we aren’t being our true selves in relationships. Love her for that. Oh, she’ll make it awkward. The OG whistleblower. Raise the roof? She invented that. She lights the way to follow your inner compass when everyone else says not to go that way.

Highlight: Just because people around you aren’t ready to deal with something doesn’t mean you dim your light. You are a beacon for shadows to be revealed. Keep going. Follow your intuition. You are the medicine.

Black Moon Lilith in Libra: June 29 – March 27

What Is Black Moon Lilith?

To start off, let’s get to the basics, which means astronomy. Lilith is not a planet or asteroid; it’s actually a location in space. Cool, right? Just adds to her badassery. Less sexy? She’s a mathematical calculation lol.

The moon orbits around Earth, but it’s not always the same distance. Sometimes it’s closer, like when we get supermoons, or it can be farther away. Black Moon Lilith is the calculation of its farthest point—the dark side of the moon so to speak. (Technically, there can be two calculations for this point, but that’s a discuss for another day.)

The Backstory of Black Moon Lilith
Her lore as a symbol of rebellion and non-conformity paints her as the original pot stirrer. We love this for her.

Did you know Adam had a first wife? Yeah, that’s Lilith. (Funny how she wasn’t talked about much before but is now. Didn’t want to give women any ideas. Thank gosh it’s all changing.) She heard the tale they were trying to tell and pin on her, and she was like, “Uh, no. I am not the one. I’m not taking the blame and going out like that. You want me to be subservient, have kids, blah blah? Oh, hell no. I didn’t come for all that.” And she peaced out because they banished her (of course).

She dropped those fig leaves and left the garden party. She’s been wilding ever since.

In patriarchal stories, she’s taken on all the roles you’d expect of a woman who wouldn’t be a pawn, take orders that compromise her integrity, or follow a lie meant to deceive and control. She’s blamed for killing children, terrorizing the night, being whore, and committing other evil deeds. However, since recent mainstream talk (the 60s, as far as I can find—if you know more, please share!), she’s gotten an modern revision She’s talked about more in astrology, so if you get a reading, ask about your Lilith placement. She’s been given her due, with a full telling of her side of the story. Like Medusa and other females in male-written tales during patriarchy, she’s getting her update. She’s still fierce and non-conformist, upending harmful standards, inequities, and hypocrisies throughout each zodiac sign she graces. Not she is discussed more as the good trouble needed to shake us out of harmful ruts—ruts that harm ourselves and others.

She is that voice inside that won’t let us go with the crowd when we know it’s wrong. She symbolizes anger, rage, pain, and hurt—the kind that can be channeled to bring about change. Revolution with an emphasis on evolution. She’s here to help us right the wrongs.

Anger, Relationships, and Libra
It’s a good time to examine your relationship with anger, frustration, and the unfairness in your life. Anger is not inherently bad; it’s what we do with it that matters. We all feel it; how do you work with it? Do you bury your anger? Who does that benefit?

Lilith demands that we stand up and out from the crowd. She gives us a spine and a megaphone and demands we use them.

Lilith in Libra is here to upend our unhealthy relationships. Zero fucks. She never had them to begin with.

Black Moon Lilith in Libra
When Black Moon Lilith is in Libra, she’s the friend that pushes you off that fence you got comfortable sitting on even as it impales you.

She’s like, “Uh, no, you aren’t going to keep dating that guy who belittles you. Uh, no, you aren’t going to keep working where you’re doing work you’re not paid for and making yourself sick over it. Uh no, you are not going to stay quiet when you see the unkind way everyone is treating someone. You sure are not going to sit by and let them suffer alone or let those people think that’s okay.”

She bad.

Remember Lilith When You Need Courage
R-E-S-P-E-C-T is the anthem for this time. Respect for both yourself and others. That it is happening in Libra while the nodes are finishing up in the relationship axis of Aries and Libra (the self and the other), gives us strength to stand up for ourselves and others.

She lit the way to follow your interior compass when everyone says not to go that way. Remember when it gets hard: it’s not happening to you, it’s happening for you. Find that courage you have inside.

See, the cosmos is trying to help us make this world a better place. Use Lilith to help you stand in strength to do the right thing even when you stand alone. Relationships are the core of our lives and we all deserve ones that are based in love and respect and care. Lilith is gonna make that super clear.
