Sagittarius is Here! Bring on the Miracles, Wisdom, Travel, Fun, Luck, Benevolence, Positivity…

Let’s all take some notes from Sag Rising legends Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo: seek wisdom and follow our intuition to create. Wouldn’t that make the world the smarter, more beautiful place we want it to be? Learning is the major trait of this season so let’s get to learning from the greats!

Sagittarius Season: The Time for Fun, Courage, and Expansion

Can you feel it? Miracle making! Courage! Joy! Laughter! Fun! IDGAF—I’m gonna be for my joy! And encourage you to be for yours! Adventure! Bright siding everything! Exuberance! Energy! Truth! Clarity! Luck! Saying it with your whole chest! Smarts! Learning! Travel! Abundance! Expansion! Tout de suite! PARRRTTTTYYYYYYYYY!

The Shadow Side of Sagittarius: How to Avoid the Pitfalls

I honestly feel bad for people that aren’t Sag after that list, because I mean, it’s all so effing good. (Plus, when you look at the list of Sag people, mostly, it’s so on!) But that’s when the shadow side comes in, lol. Selfish. Lacking tact. Emotionally shallow. Anger. Impatient. So, while we are definitely going to curb those, right, and watch out for those traits trying to take us over this month, there is another way we can make the month better. It has been suggested by many wise souls that by amping up the good so hard and being so about it none of the bad gets through. Worth a try in a month known for miracle making right? Let’s try with this one, shall we?)

The Power of Clarity, Truth, and Wisdom This Month

For example, if we are really about clarity and truth and wisdom, then anything we say would consider the other’s feelings, pains, and so naturally will only be helpful. If we are sincerely about learning and positivity and courage, what will flow will naturally be thoughtful and even inclusive of those we think are lacking in those virtues, inviting them to come along, realizing everyone has something to teach us and we can’t do it alone. And yes that does mean everyone. If we were really about abundance and luck and miracles, we would know they happen in the every moment by those small choices we make, and so go against our ego, selfishness, and negative traits, thus ushering in those beautiful natural occurrences more often.

Magic, like luck, is made. What are you making? Where are your thoughts?

Leonardo da Vinci (and Michelangelo!): A Perfect Example of Sagittarian Traits

I recently saw the brilliant Ken Burns documentary Leonardo da Vinci. Obviously the dude was a cliché of brilliance, but it was seeing how he was as a person, the real gift of the documentary, made him seem so Sag-like to me: Constantly learning, wanting to do what he wanted and not giving a F what his benefactors wanted, not finishing much, his connection with intuition and spirit, curiosity about everything and how it all works, being fun and traveling around. I knew he was a Taurus, but was curious about his other signs, and yep, sure enough he is a Sag rising. Ha! This shows how our rising takes over in how we are, and its importance in understanding ourselves and others.

So sure, he is a Taurus, he was an artist and about beauty and lux (aka light!), but his Sag rising was his personality and who he was in the world. In the doc, they mention his competition at the time, Michelangelo. Also über talented (lol, understatement much), but, unlike da Vinci, he rubbed a lot of people the way, was considered showy and braggy and abrasive. Get this: he was also a Sag rising! But with his sun is Pisces- so clearly an artist and spiritual as well, hello Mr. Sistine Chapel and David and Pietas maker. (Astrology sure is some kind of wisdom!)

Kislev: The Rainbow of Sagittarius and New Beginnings

The month of Sagittarius in Hebrew is Kislev, which means rainbow. While rainbows are beautiful and, of course, make us pause in wonderment, beauty, and joy, they occur after rain. They are a sign that the hard times are over and we have a new start. The story of Noah’s flood happened last month, in Scorpio month, and signified a promise that would never happen again when the rainbow appeared in the sky.

Sagittarius holds so much good, really all the good we can imagine in luck, miracles, joy, abundance, love, wisdom, courage, and connectedness. And while it can all be found this month, we can take it for the whole year. How you ask? Each day, starting on the new moon Dec 1 for a month, the coffers of the universe are open to everyone. It is a time of goodness and fun and partying— I mean we have so many holidays and vacations and people gathering and gift giving, that’s not an accident. It is a time to be generous and together! To share and be with each other. And yes, that does mean everyone. You bring the good things to you by being them and bringing them to others. It is said by those wise kabbalists that if you are busy doing for others the universe will be busy doing for you.

So, we can use the big smarts and rainbow filled new beginning available this month beyond ourselves. Especially use and apply it where it’s hard, Sagies are known for benevolence. Again, we don’t bring peace by hanging with only our friends. In a month known for luck, go beyond what you think you know for something greater. You know what they say about those who assume? 🙂

Sagittarius: Big, Silly Buffoons Who Spread Joy

The thing about Sagies is, we can be big silly buffoons! But that’s okay, and we enjoy it, because that means everyone is laughing and happy. Sagittarius care most that everyone is happy and laughing, and that is what matters. That is what matters.

Radical Joy in Difficult Times: Choosing to Be Positive

How can we bring more joy in our lives and to each other, especially when we see so much cruelty and pain? We choose it. We chose what we focus on and connect to as that is our power. We “pay attention” after all.

We can actively choose to be joyful when it doesn’t make sense. Radical joy amidst the challenges. Science proves that the viewer changes what is viewed just by observing. Imagine what doing that with love and joy can do do the hard stuff. Worth a try, right? Plus, it just feels better. We deserve that!

The Meaning of ‘Sanguine’ and Choosing Positivity: A Guide for Sagittarius Season

It’s funny, because the first day of Sag season I found myself looking up the definition of ‘sanguine’. (Sometimes a word is used that makes me question its meaning, you know? There are no stupid questions, after all.) It brought such an illumination and clear link to this Sag season. If there was ever a word that is très Sag as modus operandi, and useful for these times it’s this:
“Is optimistic or positive, especially in an apparently bad or difficult situation. “He is sanguine about prospects for the global economy.” – Oxford Dictionary

So, as the world turns and we are seeing greed, gluttony, cruelty, and just some of the worst that people can do, this word can be our guide. Sometimes we forget that being positive is an option! Remembering that we can be positive in hard times, thus ushering in a feeling of good, will thus portend what is to follow.

Jupiter is a symbol for raising consciousness of others. Sags can make great teachers. This month is a reminder we are all teachers, and all capable of raising the awareness of others towards the good and joyful. Are we doing it?

Sagittarius and the Power of Learning as Therapy

Ken Burns thinks da Vinci may be the person of the last millennium, a solid argument. David Smith in The Guardian wrote about this time, “One of the more reassuring aspects… has been the emergence of authors and historians as accidental therapists.”

Yes, learning as therapy is classic Sag. Self-improvement, growth, and being better than we were before is always on the agenda for this sign and so all of us this month. So… let’s get smarter, shall we?! AND HAVE FUN WHILE WE DO IT!

Sag season class is in session! Follow your intuition and interests and get at it.

Miracles and Generosity in Sagittarius Season

Oh, and as miracles are things we can do for others, let’s put that on our agendas, too.

Questions to ask yourself this sag season: What do I want for my life? And I living a life I enjoy? What would that mean? Am I happy with my level of learning and growth? When was the last time I had an adventure? What am I afraid of? Why? What dreams do I have for myself? Am I taking steps for them to happen? What am I committed to in my life? What do I stand up for? What do I believe in?
