We Are in a Wonky Zone – Approach with Care
We’re currently in “wonky zone,” so it’s essential to approach both others and yourself with care during this time. I mean, we should always approach people with care, obviously, just more so now. Lasting til the end of April…
If only this season had red cones all around it lol.
Remember: When things go wrong they are also on their way to going right. Whatever is coming up is happening for a reason, what is it? Are we being too set in our ways? Do we need to slow down? Consider others? Are we even going the right way in our lives? If everything is always happening for us – that is a take! – what is the “error” helping us to see?

Reason #1: Mercury Goes Direct Today
Mercury has gone direct again in Pisces, but the days around its shift are usually the most chaotic. The day Mercury goes direct can feel especially squirrelly, so be extra cautious when communicating. Triple-check your messages, emails, and plans to avoid misunderstandings. Maybe quadruple check both in person and email? Be very careful to avoid presumptions is what I’m saying. “But I thought” are the telltale signs of not heading this (and even when you do cuz it’s super wonky but still, let’s do our all.)
During this period, which spans the three weeks of Mercury retrograde as well as the two weeks before and after, it’s wise to approach conversations as though you’re starting from scratch—like you’ve never had the conversation before. Imagine you and the other person speak entirely different languages. You may assume they understand social cues and norms, but they might not.
Even if you don’t have much Mercury energy in your own chart (meaning Gemini or Libra), remember that we all have Mercury somewhere in our astrological makeup. So, we’re all affected, just some more than others. And keep in mind, it’s not necessarily about you—it’s about being mindful that the other person might be more sensitive, confused, or anxious.
Understanding Others During Mercury Retrograde
Mercury retrograde care (err, caution?) isn’t just about us—it’s about how we interact with others. People may be more reactive, so it’s important to adjust how we communicate with them. Being aware of this is key, as it helps us approach situations with more empathy and understanding.
In astrology, we know these cycles to better our lives and navigate them with care. When we know others are more sensitive or distracted, we can better connect with them. This benefits everyone and prevents unnecessary misunderstandings.
Venus Retrograde: Emotional Sensitivities Intensified
Right now, Venus is still retrograde (until the 12th), which adds even more potential for tension, misunderstandings and misreads. Venus rules our values, and with it also in Pisces, this retrograde influences our emotional world—especially love, feelings, sensitivities and money. People are reflecting deeply on their emotions and their relationships. This can lead to confusion and friction as people try to figure out how they truly feel about things.
We all know that emotional health varies from person to person (to put it mildly), and right now, many people are grappling with deep feelings – even if they don’t know what’s going on. Pisces rules the subconscious and dream world, after all. So, expect plenty of “feelings on top of feelings.” This time is great for empathy, connection, mercy, and healing—but only if people are ready to do the work and participate. As the Kabbalists teach, there can be no coercion in spirituality. Pisces energy encourages us to heal and forgive, but it’s important that people are willing to walk through this process. For that we can do our work and in that, inspire others.

The Influence of Pisces, Saturn, and the North Node
With so much planetary energy in Pisces, including Saturn and the North Node, the overall mood is one of deep emotional processing. (Here’s the article on all the Pisces cuz it’s so much Pisces lol.) Everyone seems to be in their feelings, which could lead to greater empathy but also potential confusion, and also self-absorption. Be aware that this time can trigger emotional wounds, and not everyone may be ready to heal, talk about it, or forgive. Give people space and grace. It’s what you’d want, after all. Give way. Focus on your own test 🙂
Pisces energy can help, but we have to meet it halfway by wanting to heal and progress. It’s a time to be extra patient with ourselves and others as we sort through our emotions. It’s also time to get into it ourselves. Like the bow being pulled back before going so far forward, this time of review can take us far after the retrograde period ends.
Eclipse Season Energy: Endings, Beginnings, and Transitions
We’re still in the energy of eclipse season, which lasts until the last week of April. Eclipses bring change and transformation, and they often push us to make shifts—both internally and externally. (Here’s my article on this one as a refresher.) This period of astrology feels like a construction zone where miscommunications can happen, people are dealing with emotional work and sudden lift changes, and there’s a lot of “interior renovation” going on.
During this time, focus on your personal growth and approach situations with grace and understanding. Instead of assuming others are making mistakes out of malice, take a step back and ask questions. Eclipses reveal hidden truths, so trust your instincts and go with your gut.
Navigating Change with Love and Grace
Eclipses are times of endings and beginnings, so if you realize you and someone are no longer in alignment, it’s okay to gracefully move forward. Honor your inner guidance and trust that everything is unfolding as it should. Not always easy though, and for that there are many great videos on YouTube about healing, letting go, and self-love.
With Pisces energy still guiding us in many ways (along with Aries courage), remember that the key takeaway from this time is mercy and love, integrating wisdom learned. As we move forward with Mercury and Venus going direct, hold onto the lessons of love and grace. The best way to receive love is to give it, and we can all agree that the world needs more love, grace, and kindness—especially for those who may seem least deserving of it. (I know, it’s frustrating, but it’s true.)
Final Thoughts
Remember, during this time of heightened emotional sensitivity and cosmic shifts, it’s crucial to approach others with extra care. Take your time, double-check your words, and trust your intuition. As things start moving forward, keep the lessons of Pisces close—empathy, compassion, and grace. Let’s move through these changes with deeper love for ourselves and others. It’s in the stars, after all..
