Sagittarius Season and the Power of Information: Some Truth About How We’re Shaping the World

What Are We Doing With Our Information? A Needed Sag Season Query
Remember, quest and question are linked 🙂

This year, we’ve seen how information has been weaponized in ways that shape public opinion and manipulate emotions. At its worst, people – like that DT guy, for example – twist facts and feelings for their own benefit. (Jupiter, the planet of expansion, is currently in Gemini, the sign of communication and information. Jupiter magnifies whatever it touches, it’s generous like that, so it’s up to us to direct that energy. You get what I’m saying?)

People can take information and twist it – like that DT guy – and suddenly, we’re left wondering what happened. How could people fall for that? We can question these people, but let’s avoid insults – it’s not a good look nor is it helpful. Unity and a better world, after all, is the goal. Instead, let’s focus on understanding our own role in this mess. How are we using the information we know? Is it for our own selfish gain, or are we using it to help others too? Each of us has a part to play in this. Blaming a political party, a company, or a single person won’t help us recognize how much power we all hold, and how our actions shape the larger picture.

People take info and can lie – like that DT guy – and many others are left wondering what happened when the lie is exposed. We can question those people – insulting is not a good look nor helpful – or instead we can try to understand our own role in such things. That is the useful thing to do. How are we using the information we know and using it? Is it for our selfish benefit or for others as well? We each have much to do in this regard. Each of us has a part to play in this. Blaming a political party, a company, or a single person won’t help us recognize how much power we all hold, and how our actions shape the larger picture.

Many people work for – and thus profit from and support – United Healthcare. Many people do the same with DT. Many work for financial institutions built and engineered with greed and inequity. The same is true for the health insurance industry. Lawyers don’t reform the system they know so well and are aware needs it, instead they profit from it. Universities, which are supposed to educate, often sell agendas that maintain the status quo, all while sitting on massive endowments. And yet, college athletes can’t even profit from their talents and hard work? Profits only go to businesses and school? It’s madness. (It’s actually slavery, so get ready for that discush to heat up.)

Recently, Biden’s pardons have come under scrutiny, and rightly so. But if your conclusion after four very problematic years isn’t that everywhere is broken, you’re missing the point. Since Roe v. Wade was overturned, the President and first female VP didn’t use their power to issue an executive order ensuring women’s rights to control their own bodies. Full stop. Police aren’t held accountable for the murders of Black and Brown people, and missing and murdered Indigenous women are still largely ignored. Meanwhile, the cost of food and housing is skyrocketing, and those at the top are ignoring it all.

It almost feels as if Kamala couldn’t win because it would shatter the false narrative that “everything is okay.” European-American men and women are still at the top of the pyramid of that denial as it hasn’t personally hurt them enough. And that’s not okay.

Do we want a world where people have to hurt themselves to care about another’s plight? What the point of information then? Indeed that is the question. What are we doing with what we know?

It’s all been feeling very pre-French Revolution since DT took office, am I right? And the situation has only gotten worse. Those who have wealth and power don’t care about those suffering and it’s all just widened. The game is up and people are seeing it. Yes, it’s the Musks and Bezos and Zuckerbergs, but it’s also every person who supports the status quo. Those who work for these companies and profit from them, for example. And yet, if people leave these companies – like all of them lol – they won’t have work. Indeed. That’s the point people. A stand has to be taken. And yes, it means sacrifice. But the thing is, if everyone does it change comes and we will all be ok. That’s the thing! Standing for one means standing for all. Our unity will change things for the better. Why won’t people, each one, start?

Having spent a lot of time in Europe these past seven years (understatement, lol), I’ve seen firsthand how the world reacts to the chaos in the U.S. – George Floyd, Roe v. Wade, DT running for President as a felon, etc. The French are constantly asking, “Why are you guys allowing this? Why don’t you take to the streets?”

There’s an old saying: “A path to a friend’s house not taken gets forgotten.” So too with liberties. It’s not a one-time thing.

Have you seen those images of Iranian women in the 1970s? Wearing swimsuits, living freely, and making their own choices? North and South Korea were unified until the middle of the last century… What happened there? Japan has no standing army for a reason. Great Britain isn’t so great anymore. France is losing its influence, and so were SpainPortugal, and Belgium – all by force.

Change happens, but I’m voting for the peaceful way. Let’s think about our actions and how we can be better to create a new world. It can happen.

Preserving liberties in peace takes effort. Yes, we grew up with movies about good guys like Jack Ryan, but the reality is that there aren’t many like him. Plus, the CIA has a Hollywood office – we all know propaganda is a thing. Empires fall, and when people don’t have food and shelter, while others live like kings behind gated walls, well, history repeats itself.

But we don’t have to follow the same path. We can create a new way forward if those hoarding wealth and power change. And again, it’s never just the “top guys.” Many people along the way are greasing palms.

Traveling is fatal to prejudice. It also crushes the idea that any place is truly “the best.” How are we using the information in our own lives? I know it’s made me realize that some beliefs I hold dear – if not universally true – don’t serve me. It’s made me more open-minded, in a good way. A lifestyle with naps isn’t so bad. A culture that values vacationrest, and healthcare is civilized. One that doesn’t isn’t.

Sure, outright racists are bad, but there’s also that saying “there’s enough good in the worst of us and bad in the best of us” that should cause us each to pause. As we learn from the greats. Like this from MLK:

“In the end, we will remember not the words of our enemies, but the silence of our friends.” – Martin Luther King Jr.

Sadly, we’re seeing how many of us are silent. But it’s not too late to change. As he also said, “The time is always right to do what’s right.”

What are you using to base your decisions on? What do you know? Is it time to find new sources? Talk to new people? Challenge your own assumptions? We don’t bring peace by only engaging with people who think like us.

Sagittarius season says YES, and with Jupiter in Gemini, the universe is giving an extra hell yeah.

Jupiter is the largest planet, but it’s mostly made of air, lol. Let’s make sure we’re not full of hot air in these times, mmkay?

Happy learning, and acting up for the good of all with peace. 😊

“Take the first step in faith. You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” – Martin Luther King Jr.
